Project Description
Farm Africa conducted targeted training on Financial Management, Agribusiness Development, and the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) model for worker committees drawn from selected flower and vegetable farms, as well as packhouses across Kenya. The training aimed to build the financial literacy and entrepreneurial capacity of agricultural workers, enabling them to manage income effectively, enhance productivity, and participate in savings and credit initiatives through VSLAs.
Additionally, Farm Africa extended this training to sesame and cashew nut farmers in Kenya’s Coastal region, equipping them with practical skills to strengthen their agribusiness ventures and improve access to financial services. By integrating VSLA principles into agricultural value chains, the initiative fostered inclusive economic empowerment, enhanced livelihoods, and promoted sustainable rural development within Kenya’s agricultural communities.
