Project Description
Finn Church Aid (FCA) implemented an initiative focused on establishing Savings and Loan Associations (SLAs) and integrating them into enterprise development through waste management in Nairobi, Kajiado, and Mombasa counties. The project aimed to empower community groups to form SLAs as a foundation for financial inclusion, savings culture, and access to small-scale credit for income-generating activities.
By linking SLAs to waste management enterprises, FCA promoted both environmental sustainability and economic empowerment. Participants were trained on turning waste into valuable resources, fostering entrepreneurship, and improving livelihoods through innovative recycling and waste-based business ventures. This approach not only strengthened community resilience but also contributed to cleaner, greener, and more economically vibrant urban and peri-urban environments.
