Project Description
SOS Children’s Villages (CV) Kenya conducted a comprehensive training on the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) methodology for 28 staff members involved in the Family Strengthening Programme. The training aimed to build the capacity of social workers and program staff to effectively support communities in establishing and managing VSLAs as a means of enhancing household economic stability and resilience.
As part of the assignment, a participatory process was facilitated to develop an SOS CV Kenya VSLA manual, complete with training guides tailored for both social workers and village agents. The initiative also included the recruitment and training of community groups along the VSLA-Value Chain, ensuring a sustainable and well-structured approach to community-based financial inclusion and empowerment within the Family Strengthening Programme.
